Re: Morality

Can animals be moral? Can they have a conscious rational view of good and bad? Good question, how can we find the answer? ask them? Hey, Fido, when you protected that kitten from that Pitbull and put yourself in danger, were you aware that you were showing self-sacrifce? and why? Hey Tommy the goril...

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

He was best known for his remark that, "Science flies you to the moon. Religion flies you into buildings".

Probably one of the dumbest things have read.

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

think that there are very few of us that could resist the temptation of immortality and acquiring all knowledge, just by eating a piece of fruit. So I think forgiveness was certainly in order, from a benevolent God. Why tempt your own creation in the first place? Why was this temptation in anyway n...

Re: Morality

If you really can't get were subjective morality can end up, I am not sure where this conversation is going. I want you to picture, for a moment, a world in which any act that is done is defined as good or bad based solely on the whim of either the majority OR those with enough power to impose their...

Re: Trump Moving U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem!!!

No, Jews, Christians and Muslims to NOT worship the same God but in different ways.
Not sure how many times that needs to be said.

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

Trying to reconcile evolution with genesis is, to say the very least, a challenge. Genesis is a theological book and we also have to look at the flood too. IF the flood was global then re population of the world is based on the survivors of the flood. Less of an issue, of course, if the flood was lo...

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

Don, Scripture doesn't really address that at all. Scripture simply says that Man came from the Earth as all life did, brought forth By God. The HOW is not mentioned. Scripture then says that a distinct creation even happened in a specific local ( The Garden in Eden) and that event brought forth Ada...

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

I think that Neo is stating that, evolution as we know it does NOT require any SPECIAL intervention from God. And He is correct about that. It still requires He sustain the process of course BUT no special intervention on His part is require din the process to get us from a single celled organism to...

Re: Morality

Very few people have the balls to take subjective morality to it's natural conclusion and those that do are, typically, viewed as psychopaths or sociopaths. But they are at least honest.

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

I don't want you to think that we are going with the "miracle of the gaps" argument, any less than someone is going with the "science of the gaps" argument. We need to always take what was written in the bible from the perspective of WHO was writing it, to WHOM and WHEN. While th...

mir·a·cle ˈmirək(ə)l/Submit noun a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency. Re: Morality

It is very easy for people with established morals in a society with established morals to comment on how they don't need objective morals.

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

As always, I think I agree with you mostly, except a small thing here or there. 1. As I also wrote to Rick, we can't use evolution selectively the same way we should use scriptures selectively. 2. Yes, we will have a much better understanding 1000 years from now, but I do believe that some basic fa...
