Re: Do you think LGBT is being forced on us?

Not sure you understood what I meant.
Being a homosexual is one thing, acting on it is another.
Like a person addicted to sex, and having the desire to cheat, it is one thing to want to have sex and cheat and NOT do it, and quite another to do it.

Re: Were the Nephilim and the Sumerian mythical kings somehow related?

Additionally, there is no text in
the Hebrew Bible that has a council of human Israelite judges who are assigned to judge the nations
of the earth.

Re: Were the Nephilim and the Sumerian mythical kings somehow related?

There are differences when humans are said they will be LIKE Gods ( Moses in Exodus 7:1 for example) and beings that ARE Gods. Psalm 89:5-7 Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! 6 For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among t...

Re: Were the Nephilim and the Sumerian mythical kings somehow related?

Is psalm 82 is about humans then all the other Psalms that speak of Gods are kind of silly: Psalms 86:8, 96:4 Pretty much any comment that states that God is higher or better or more worthy than others gods become silly since they don't exist. The writers would be comparing God to something that did...

Re: Were the Nephilim and the Sumerian mythical kings somehow related?

I can't get much clearer than that dude, seriously. As for this: I'll reply to your last post when I get more time. But for now, I think you need to reread Psalms 82. It's about people, not divine beings. If this is about people, please explain how these people are IN HEAVEN ( God takes His place in...

Re: Were the Nephilim and the Sumerian mythical kings somehow related?

Then, we just have to find out, who are the angles that sinned that Jude and Peter speak of. Who are the angels that we will judge according to Paul. Who the Chief princes and princes are in Daniel 10. And of course address Isaiah 24:21 21 On that day the Lord will punish the host of heaven, in heav...

Re: Were the Nephilim and the Sumerian mythical kings somehow related?

I have said over and over that here is NO SCRIPTURE that states that the sons of god are fallen angels, how many more times do I have to say it ? As a matter of fact, there is no mention of the term "fallen angel". Not sure how you can say that I don't understand what a fallen angel is, ha...

Re: Were the Nephilim and the Sumerian mythical kings somehow related?

By the way, and I kept forgetting to mention this for the original post, Genesis 6 is considered, by some, as the biblical version of/ polemic against, the Apkallu of Mesopotamia.

Re: Were the Nephilim and the Sumerian mythical kings somehow related?

Paul, For the sake of this discussion, we can categorize angels, or divine beings as you call them, into two categories. 1) Angels that have not sinned. 2) Fallen angels. Or angels that have sinned. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to agree that "sons of God" does not refer to fallen...

Re: Do you think LGBT is being forced on us?

Being a homosexual is like being any other kind of sinner: Thief, someone that swears a lot, sexually promiscuous, slanders, anger issues, etc. We all sin and we all fall short, ALL OF US. Being a homosexual is as much as much being a sinner as anything else, no more no less. In the degree's of sin ...

Re: Key Questions for Atheists and Agnostics

There are twp issues here: What is objective / absolute morality Does it exist. First off we have to accept that morality is not a tangible thing, much like consciousness. As such it many not be demonstrable, like love is not demonstrable but its effects and results and actions are. Objective morali...

Re: Key Questions for Atheists and Agnostics

According to my understanding, anecdotal evidence is generally considered the least reliable type of evidence because it is often based upon heresy or faulty reasoning. For me a personal experience would be more convincing. Ken Anecdotal evidence is evidence from anecdotes, i.e., evidence collected...

Re: Were the Nephilim and the Sumerian mythical kings somehow related?

It just seemed like you were trying to defend what he was saying. All I'm trying to do is stick to what scripture says, and not take some wild, science-fiction story about giant demon people and try to read that back into scripture. My points in this thread are: 1) there's nothing in scripture that...
