Re: Key Questions for Atheists and Agnostics

I made a mistake on my previous reply. You asked if I agree raping an 8 yr old is objectively wrong; then you defined “objectively wrong” as “regardless of anyone’s opinion, it is wrong”. I don’t agree objectively wrong is limited to “regardless of opinion” I think it also includes an ability to de...

Re: Key Questions for Atheists and Agnostics

It depends. If he were the type of God to provide eternal torture because I used the freewill he gave me to do my will rather than his own, I would rather such a God not exist. If he were the type who just sat back and live and let live without any interference, then it wouldn’t matter. Dude...I ca...

Re: Key Questions for Atheists and Agnostics

Q For atheists : If you self-identify as an atheist , what are you not an agnostic - what separates how you believe from the stated definition of what an agnostic believes? An Agnostic is one who believes there is no way of knowing whether God exists or not. I believe just as you can’t be “X” and n...

Re: Why I am not an Atheist

I could never be an atheist BUT I was, at one time, agnostic. Why did I never make the "logical" step to atheism? Well, I put it like this nowadays: A negative absolute ( there is no God) is illogical. The reason is obvious But I found this quote and it states it more completely: “To sust...

Re: The Delusion of "Free Will"

PS, God doesn't have to micromanage for him to be in control. God sustains reality every second of every day. The fact that he allows evil, natural or otherwise, is not inconsistent with Him sustaining reality.

Re: How do members of the Trinity communicate with each other?

Ah, "chinese whispers" - also known as the telephone game. Nah - I'm fairly sure that the communication is simultaneous and perfectly known - not as if the message goes through the Father, then to the Son, and then when it gets to the Holy Spirit, the messasge is somehow garbled or change...

Re: The Delusion of "Free Will"

Singularity was NOT a PHYSICAL thing! And the mass of things that poured from it show that they did not previously exist. And a moment later, they did! Black holes, etc. - really, Neo, did those things not have their own purposes? You can't say. But what we can say is that the very necessary elemen...

Re: I'm New Here!

A scientific theory not only includes observable and repeatable testing but also encompasses making generalized predictions about those observations. So long as new discoveries do not invalidate or contradict the predictions made, the theory stands. When Einstein came up with the general theory of ...

Re: Do you think LGBT is being forced on us?

The normalization of homosexuality is part of a sea change that's been taking place in our country. I understand that social conservatives feel like it's being forced on them by a minority, but that's not reality. The reality is that most Americans have changed their position on homosexuality to on...
