I find it difficult to believe that 'nature' would so conveniently organize itself into near-mutally-exclusive, universal life and death modes.

Re: ID/Evolution and Michael Behe
It's not necessarily true that natural selection is "thinking" about it...that would imply that natural selection is a designer (hehe...). That is because it is an anti-god. It is a catch-all for the observations of biological change past, present, and future with the sole purpose of not ...

What of the geneology of Jesus as being of the line of David?MarcusOfLycia wrote:But he was not of the "seed of Adam". He was born of a woman, but did not inherit the sin nature of mankind because His Father is God.

Re: What happens if a post-op transexual becomes a Christian
I really believe that God sees the heart and which that person holds higher (He or the gender). I think that some of this stems from being so blessed (spoiled even) in the western world that we even have time to be worried about being affirmed, accepted, and even respected for who we want to be seen...

Re: What happens if a post-op transexual becomes a Christian
I'm not sure how the 'no marriage' thing will be played out, but the Genesis acct doesn't mention that Adam and Eve were married nor given in marriage. Almost forgot... Genesis 2:24 - Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh....

Re: What happens if a post-op transexual becomes a Christian
After this life, we won't be married nor given in marriage; which is to suggest the possibility that a lot of what we understand about human sexuality does not necessarily translate into eternity. I disagree, while I acknowledge these passages, I think it disregards the "plan" as set out ...

Re: What happens if a post-op transexual becomes a Christian
Life is all about interesting tensions like these. On the one hand, you have the desire to live to honor God and avoid sin, but then if you push it hard enough you can make anything to be the unforgivable sin. God sees the heart. One could say that sin starts in there as well. So is a repentant pers...

After this life, we won't be married nor given in marriage; which is to suggest the possibility that a lot of what we understand about human sexuality does not necessarily translate into eternity. I think this issue is probably more of a stumbling block the more someone is obsessed with sexuality to...

Re: Genesis flood question to ponder
I just thought about this question. If the flood was truly global as some creationists suggest, and the tops of the highest mountains were covered, including Mt. Everest, then how did those on the ark breathe? If Mt. Everest is 29,000 feet above sea level, and water seeks its own level, then the ar...

Re: Where Atheism has failed...
ABC, if you hearken back to your faith days and dust off that Bible for just a moment and turn open 1 Corinthians: F"or after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." You will find that, while cit...

Re: Where Atheism has failed...
The burden of proof isn't on me to prove god doesn't exist. Its on anyone who wants to prove god does exist- and to do so without using the bible. I'm just curious to know where this "burden of proof" comes from? Is it a natural law? Where is it written? Who administers it? Is it impartia...

Re: Time for a bit of a challenge...
The thing is, when scientists in the field of medicine get it wrong, people die. When scientists in the engineering field get it wrong, people die. When scientists in the field of mathematics get it wrong, people can die, or someone might lose a lot of money. When scientists in the climate field get...

Re: Time for a bit of a challenge...
Evolutionary theory predicts this, and we find it. That is how evolution is substantiated. This has nothing to do with chance and everything to do with sound reasoning and evidence. Genetic theory predicts it, natural selection predicts it, and what do you know? It happens. And this is exactly the ...

Re: Speaking in tongues.
I should think that the fruits of the spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, are excellent indicators of the Holy Spirit dwelling in an individual as well. I have never spoken in tongues that I know of. I must admit that I have raised an ey...
