Re: Are radical Muslims a minority?

Ed: It's so bizarre listening to you going on and on about how Muslims want to conquer the world while somehow overlooking the fact that Christians did, in fact, literally conquer the world. All manner of people who have self-identifed as "Christians," in the distant past, have done all m...

Re: How can God know everything and let us have free will?

I really don't get why people can't seem to wrap their minds around us having free will, yet God knowing exactly what we will do and say, knowing all future things perfectly, and that in spite of these, He indeed controls the parameters of all things, and the specifics wherever He desires. If fact, ...

Re: The Delusion of "Free Will"

Actions begin in the mind/the Will. ACTIONS flow from and are a result of the will - the mind/brain center that enacts desires.

Re: Manchester terrorist attack...

Neo is equating innocents being killed UNINTENTIONALLY and regretfully (MANY calculations and preparations have been used to hopefully avoid killing innocent civilians), as it is impossible to go after known terrorists responsible for and KNOWN to be plotting ever more attacks (as they often hide am...

Re: Manchester terrorist attack...

Ed is unlikely to see any belief system as inherently evil or dangerous, as he doesn't believe in spiritual forces - good or bad. At least he could look at the horrific fruit produced by those with correlating beliefs across the world.

Re: Can Christians go to bars/pubs?

Alcohol in itself isn't bad, nor is drinking but it is all too easy to become dependant on it. Often it's used as a crutch, a way of escape and is, or can be, incredibly difficult to curtail once started and I speak from personal experience. Very wise words. If you are around a hard drinking cultur...

Re: Are My Actions Determined?

But the wind is material of origin, while God is immaterial.

Wind is a result of the physical - atmospheric pressures, planetary rotation speed, etc. All of which are caused by physical things that once did not exist, all derived from SOMETHING eternal that caused and designed what produces wind.

Re: Manchester terrorist attack...

Neo: Whether Islam is evil or not has no bearing on my argument. Then STOP!!! Because you need not go much further. If you do not recognize that it is ultimately the evil in hearts and minds where terror springs from - people encouraging the butchering of women, children and young people who have a...

Re: Can Christians go to bars/pubs?

I know some contend that the alcohol content of First Century wine was much lower. Or that they supposedly watered it down. Nonetheless, there was still drunkenness - from way back (remember, Noah, drunk and naked in his tent). Whatever, Psalm 104 reveals that God "causes the grass to grow for ...

34% would inform the police if they thought somebody they knew was getting involved with people who support terrorism in Syria So, here we are with Muslims already living in a democratic country, enjoying its freedoms and opportunities, and yet a THIRD of them wouldn't tip the police concerning peo...

Re: Being an introvert

I just feel I'd have so much more confidence if I was an extravert. Ah, what's an "extravert?" My default nature is being introverted - but I am often quite extroverted in my interactions with others. But I need lots of time alone - and my wife is a bit like that. As I care much more abou...

Re: My journey

Fantastic news to hear, Annette. Often, God grows us through difficult times - as it's when we're most open to growth, when He's truly got our attention, and when we are closest to Him. When everything is going great, we don't seem to listen nearly as well. Christians are all in process of God refin...
