Re: other religion's prophecies

What do we make of prophecies of other religions that turn out to be true?

Oh, you mean when some cult leader says, "There will be wars, drought and famine?" Give me an example of specific, detailed prophecies that have come true from false religions.

Re: Understanding the Trinity

My sister is about 53. Instead of Scriptural understandings that reveal how to discern God's will, she constantly pursues feelings and mysticism. God RARELY shows us exactly what to do (although there are rare times when he does). But He has given us His principles, found in Scripture, as to how to ...

Re: Is being an atheist irrational?

The mod thought it was accurate and appropriate. They just couldn't reconcile. Actually, the truth is that Jac's pride prevented him from admitting he had gone way too far, as he had ruthlessly attacked a strawman construct of what the reality of the situation was, so he left in a hissy fit after s...

Re: Is being an atheist irrational?

A miracle is always miraculous, but miraculous is not always a miracle. That's a contradiction. It's because you define the miraculous by determination of its source. Yet, there is a reality that explains the miraculous, but whenever that reality still has produced what can only be described as mir...

Re: Understanding the Trinity

There is a reason why God uses teachers and pastors to instruct - as only those who have a correct understanding and training in Scripture, the Biblical principles of interpretation, etc. should be doing so. A little Scripture in the wrong hands can be a really dangerous thing! Incorrect application...

Re: Is being an atheist irrational?

JustHuman: And miracles are only miracles if they are unexplainable (about how on earth is that possible!). If God is behind those miracles than it is 'just' God doing His kind of unmiraculous omnipotent thing (at a moment and a place He chooses fit to do so). I know a few people who would have wis...

Re: Trump vs "The Media"

Ed: it's crystal clear that Russia worked to undercut Clinton and boost Trump. There's room to debate how much Russia impacted the election, why they chose Trump, and whether or not the Trump campaign was deliberately complicit, but it's clear that Russia interfered. That shouldn't surprise anyone....

Re: Is being an atheist irrational?

The only conclusion is that one's side reasoning ability is impaired. But it is not that one's reasoning ability is impaired by GOD - it's impaired by peoples' resistant hearts and minds. God gives all people sufficient evidence that He exists, per what is made, how it is so extraordinarily designe...

Re: Trump vs "The Media"

Don't hear too much anymore about how Trump was secretly in the pocket of the Russians. LOL - clearly, he does not favor them. In fact, he's royally ticked them off, of late.

Re: Comet: First Agriculture and Neolithic Civilizations

Maybe a comet might hit North Korea? You know, just Fat Boy's villa, or wherever he is (usually near an ice cream bar).

Re: Comet: First Agriculture and Neolithic Civilizations

The evidence is circumstantial - given the apparent comment event described on the pillar, the constellation positions, the correlation, known from ice core samples, of a sudden fall in temperatures. Is it true? Dunno.

Re: Is being an atheist irrational?

K: if God is all-powerful, then God must be able to outsmart any lesser created being while remaining consistent to His very own nature, to Himself. Should a creature like us be able to make God lie, then in a way we have defeated God . As for God lying - WHY would he even have to? He created all, ...

Re: Is being an atheist irrational?

ACB: The laws of causality for our world/universe
1. All things have a cause.
2.All things that have a cause are caused by something else.
3.All things are willed into existence.
4.There can be no infinite regression.

No "gaps" in that logic, ACB!

Rick: I think we have the world's laziest drivers here.

Nope - sorry, SC wins that sad distinction. Actually, Boston drivers may be worse, though. Never put on a turn signal up there, to move over - because you'll never get over. Ya gotta just go, before they cut you off.

Rick, is his driving THAT bad? Are you anticipating police action? Wrecks? What?
