Re: Creation of information

Nils: Don't you understand the evolution theory??
I've only been studying it - probably, longer than you've been alive. Not only are you devoid of observations for what you contend, but evolution isn't even what most needs explaining.

The Limits of What Science Can Reveal

I found this interesting, as science simply isn't capable of answering certain big questions - certainly not directly! https://www.reasons.org/explore/blogs/reflections/read/reflections/2019/12/10/what-are-science-s-operating-limits I liked this outtake: If scientists are to go about their work with...

Modern Humans Pre-Adam?

A cave painting nearly 44,000 years old???!!! Here's a classic case of a dating estimate for modern humans that is FAR older than suggested dates for Adam and Eve, per Bible geneology cited: https://www.foxnews.com/science/nearly-44000-year-old-hunting-scene-uncovered-by-archaeologists-is-oldest-sto...

Re: Creation of information

Byblos: You all are circling around the central point of this whole discussion but not addressing it directly. How is information defined and who defines it as such? Exactly! This is at the core of my point. Nils acts as if random mutations plus natural selection can produce useful information - bu...

Re: Creation of information

Paul: Wow.

So, any examples of information coming from a random mutation in nature?
No, but there are plenty examples of FANTASIES of such!

Re: Is Jesus God? And Why it Matters.

Lon: And I'm not the one saying God died... he is either God or he isn't... plain and simple... And you know Rick and I aren't saying Jesus died other than His body did. No Trinity doctrinal point states that Jesus spirit ceased to exist upon His physical death. It's a strawman argument you are red...

Re: Is Jesus God? And Why it Matters.

Lonnie, JESUS die NOT die - but His BODY did. God is spirit. Before Jesus took on human form, He did not have human form. So after His human form died, His Godness existed exactly as it always had. NOTHING of what Jesus as GOD is - died. Only His flesh - which was miraculously resurrected. So quit s...

Re: Gone girl

I like the NY Times review of this:

"David Fincher's shockingly good film version of Gone Girl is the date-night movie of the decade for couples who dream of destroying one another."

Re: Creation of information

DB: "And the only known causal agent that has been observed to be capable of producing code of any type is intelligence." Exactly! Nils: "... but the message that a specific mutation is beneficial is a new piece of information (new if the receiver of the information didn't know this before)." A new...

Re: Is Jesus God? And Why it Matters.

Lonnie, you aren't being honest - you are deliberately avoiding the explanation of Jesus' BODY dying, in Rick's link - because it shows your argument to have no merit! Of course GOD cannot die. But Jesus was BOTH God and man. What died was his earthly body. But God is SPIRIT (John 4:24). JESUS did n...

Re: Is Jesus God? And Why it Matters.

Lonnie, for all of your focus on Jesus being the Son of God, what are you to make of the Isaiah passage Paul quoted? "For to us a child is born , to us a son is given ; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God , Everlasting Father, P...

Re: Is Jesus God? And Why it Matters.

Oh, and Lonnie - let's not forget the consequence "if" you are WRONG: Now that you know you are rejecting Jesus to be God, then what do you base your salvation upon? Because your version of Jesus isn't the ACTUAL One, the God/man suffering / resurrected Messiah. He's not a created Being - not like a...

Re: Is Jesus God? And Why it Matters.

So now you are doing truth by what your relatives think? Lonnie: My uncle, who also has read this, said that a true christian would strive to communicate better by asking why a person believe the way they do without the use of scripture So, if Scripture is God-breathed and inspired, we're not to use...

Re: Is Jesus God? And Why it Matters.

Interesting, Jesus accepted worship, because He was God.

Others were told not to bow to an angel or a mere man!
