Re: Key Questions for Atheists and Agnostics

I agree! But as I pointed out before, IMO unlike morality; math is objective. Question for you; if Math and Morality are both objective, how come we’ve discovered true math thousands of years ago (it has yet to be changed), but we have yet to discover true morality seeing it is in a constant state ...

Re: Key Questions for Atheists and Agnostics

Actually my disagreement is with #2 & #3. As far as morality consisting of moral facts, and duties, (#2) that sounds more like an objective moral belief, something I disagree with. With #3, if one believes mankind is the most advanced and intelligent being in existence, there is nobody left to ...

Re: Why I am not an Atheist

We need to remember that we don't invent things like math or gravity, we discover them. 2+2=4 and has always equaled 4 before humans ever came up with the concept of math and it will always =4 ( probably? lol). Triangularity will always exist even if there are no triangles in the universe or no hum...

Re: Kids and faith

I'm Christocentric in life, that is, I can't go a day without reflecting upon myself or something in relation Christ. Through Christ, everything else makes sense, even understanding what is love, real love . I don't even know what "love" looks like, except that I see it via Christ. Due to ...

Re: Key Questions for Atheists and Agnostics

Kurieuo; I looked at the video, and though there is much I disagree with, I do understand the logic presented. At approx the 4 minute mark, he presents premix #4 which says “Moral facts and duties are grounded in a necessary rational source”. Kenny, to also answer your question in direct reference ...

Re: Why I am not an Atheist

As for how "form" can endure... if our "form" doesn't simply subsist in/of itself, well I'd reason human form, this/that animal form, building blueprints or the like have a rather conceptual flavour to them. So it seems to me everything is ultimately at a foundational level of t...

Re: Why I am not an Atheist

The conclusion that it's all in a mind, and that this mind can only be from a very powerfull 'being', is a presumption. If one believes in God one tries to explain things according to that believe. Aren't you (and others) with that form-theory (unwillingly?) working towards a God-only solution? 1. ...

Re: Media and Charlottesville Racist Riot

Ed: So when did we get the heart problem and lose track of Jesus? Just asking, because our racial problems, which do exist, are far less severe than at any other point in the history of our nation and our religious observance is also at a low point. Ed, his point is that embracing Jesus is the answ...

Re: Why I am not an Atheist

how it is possible that the mind/soul detaches itself from the physical part and how it can endure in it's non-physical state. Given my previous post, some answers to this question should now be apparent, or show the question to be complex and so require some unpacking. If "matter" is con...

Re: Why I am not an Atheist

If one believes that mind/soul and matter are basically the same substance, but the mind/soul can also exist without a physical instantiation, that should be physically proveable, or at least physically verifiable. Furthermore it should be explained how it is possible that the mind/soul detaches it...

Re: Why I am not an Atheist

Furthermore, what about the soul and spirit? If one dies, the spirit and/or soul should detach themself from the body (brain). With one substance, that detachment should be visible, or at least detectable. Billions have died and never has a detachment of the soul/spirit been witnessed, no proof or ...

Re: Why I am not an Atheist

@Kurieuo Will look into the videos later... Do you suggest that our thoughts (will, soul) reside somewhere outside our brain? In an immaterial, or other specific non-physical, 'space'? Isn't it obvious? ;) If what we directly experience isn't formed by our brains, then such suggests this "seat...
