Re: Morality

RickD For the sake of discussion, if we assume morality is objective, what difference would it make? If we recognize what mad men like Stalin, Pot, Mo and others like them did while morality is objective, how do you think things would be different if morality were subjective? I'm not Rick, but give...

Re: Morality

Ah, the slippery road of subjective morality, that which gave us the likes of Stalin, Pot, Mao and so many others. Is this your way of admitting morality is subjective? How's this? Objectively subjective to God. ;) No, he suggested Stalin, Pot, and Mao did what they did because morality is subjecti...

Re: Skepticism and the Principle of Sufficient Reason

Yet, if our senses of the world and rationality were naturally evolved without any intention to work this way and that, one might wonder as to whether we were able to sense and know what is actually true, or whether what we sense and know is merely adapted to get by in life and survive. I discussed...

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

Truly: I only asked for one thread, hence the different but related topics. Why don't you let me speak only on one thread? Where is Christian understanding, patience, and compassion? I'm really starting to feel that I am just not wanted. "Where there is little knowledge, there is great ignoran...

Re: Skepticism and the Principle of Sufficient Reason

Truly: We would then have to explain why similarities exist among all species, past and present. We'd need to explain why all DNA coding for protein is the same in all species. We'd need to explain why Evolution appear as small changes over long periods of time? We'd need to explain why all the evi...

Re: Evangelical Church Sees Dramatic Decline - LGBT -

Rather than Evangelical, I think I'd more prefer to identify as Fundamentalist. ;) It is funny how that word, a largely Christian one, has changed colour to what it was 100 years ago largely due as I see it to how the media reports on Islamic attacks.

Re: Does Suicide = Hell ?

Oh this is why and I mean no disrespect Blessed that I have major concerns about the establishment known as Christianity. I am well aware of this idea that suicide VICTIMS are left burning in the fiery pits of hell and I don’t think it’s a surprise you’ve no scripture supporting the idea. What scri...

Re: Skepticism and the Principle of Sufficient Reason

I am certainly open to the possibility of a Deity, I am only skeptical of the evidence supporting its existence. I am skeptical of the logic defining and describing the nature of a Deity. I am perplexed that there seems to be thousands of Deities that are culture-specific, which by definition of a ...

Re: Skepticism and the Principle of Sufficient Reason

Today's skepticism has more in common with either Nihilism, or if a person goes another route, a post-modern "the world is what you make it" than anything else. It often isn't at all healthy or as intellectually honest as many self-proclaiming skeptics would think. K: Today's skepticism h...
