I agree with what everone has said. I just wanted to point to a page here at the website: Going to Heaven Are We? As PremoMD pointed out, people need to want Jesus. They have to know their need for them . . . that requires showing them the way God sees them. This approach might work well, anyway, co...

I have my doubts that animals will be our animals will be in heaven. Few things on this: Animals weren't made in the image of God, so something at their core is substantially different from human beings. God did not breathe life into animals in the same way as He did humans. That is, humans are imbu...

Wow, K. I'd never looked that much into the subject before. I've been against the proposition for ethical reasons alone, but you pulled up some pretty heavy info. I'm curious, now, as to why anyone would want to vote for it? I suppose it's simply a lack of information plus a lot of propoganda, right...

A'ighty, Bav. I think we've both well stated our positions, so any further discussion (at least on my part) would just get unnecessarily heated.

Here's the thing, Bav. Even if I conceded every point you mentioned, which I absolutely don't, that still would have absolutely no bearing on my argument: John Kerry does not let his faith influence his political decision. Therefore, Christians ought not vote for him. Bashing Bush won't help the cas...

No, Christians ought not vote for him. He has made it clear that he does not let his faith influence his political decisions. The last thing we need is a president who doesn't pray to know God's will.

Heya Snoogins, Has anyone told that you are a good writer? You should develop that a bit . . . anyway, you asked for testimonies, so mine: For better of for worse, my coming to faith in Christ was nothing less than expected. My great grandfather was a circuit preacher, both my mother's and father's ...

TE, I can agree with almost every word you wrote. I wish more Americans would think like that! :) Bav: What if all Christians had that thought process and simply chose not to vote? I mean, if you don't want to vote, have at it. I don't mind--that's obviously your right. But, I think it's wrong to sa...

Question regarding a Halley hypothesis

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of reading The Invisible War by Donald Barnhouse. He's a pretty strong proponent of the Gap Theory (it's much better defended than I originally thought!). In it, he makes the following claim but does not reference it: Halley, the great astronomer, most popularly known tod...

They broke the legs of the thieves so that they could not make an escape attempt. They would be put up again after the Sabbath. You have a reference for that? I've never heard that argument. Everyone I've read agreed they broke their legs so that they would die very quickly. Some references: Why di...

Bav, Imagine this: Jesus dies on Friday, as we noted. The soldiers don't know he is dead yet, nor do the Pharisees, so they go to Pilate and ask to have the men's legs broken because tomorrow is the Sabbath (see previous verse references). They go out and break the legs of the two thieves. The go to...

Their legs were broken on Friday. Look at the text: So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him; but coming to Jesus, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. John 19:23-33 So, they broke the legs of the theives wh...

Re: If Bush wins

If it would make things easier on you, I can just "say" I'm a Calvinist if you like...otherwise...No. Can God not do as He pleases? Or is He bound by our decisions and/or prayers? Is it not God's will be done and not ours? . . If it looks, walks, talks, and smells like a horse, must be a ...

They did die the same day, Bav. Both died on Friday.

Jesus died on Friday, and the theives died on Friday . . .
