Re: morality question(oh no not again)
this topic is about morality (yeah i know it thus like the millionth one but bare with me) and you probably guess right it if you thought it was objective v.s subjective. well the question is that morality as a whole is it objective or subjective and more over if it is subjective can it really be c...

Re: Sex Ed
As a male and as a father, I say with full confidence that there is no advantage or underlying good purpose to socialize with the opposite sex from puberty until adulthood. I'm of a different opinion. My father encouraged friendships with those of the opposite sex, told me a good (female) friend wi...

Re: Catholics and salvation
From what I currently know Catholics either believe or at the very least, many Protestants think that Catholics believe that salvation is not fully based on grace through faith but on a ambigous combination of faith and works. As far as I know, Catholics believe that we are saved through faith alon...

Re: Evolutionary Theory it seems, like ID, begs the question
What bounds does the Theory of Evolution overstep? Yeah, some individuals (see: Richard Dawkins) use evolution as a platform to attack religion but the theory itself is just science. I just meant what you said here. If it stays "just science" I have no qualms. So...you essentially say her...

Re: Evolutionary Theory it seems, like ID, begs the question
The Theory of Evolution details the method by which the current variety of organisms on Earth evolved from a single common ancestor. The origin of that organism isn't in the picture. Agreed. However, if you want to use evolution as a philosophical attack on theism demonstrating this original ancest...

Re: Do those who seek the truth really find God?
He also discussed how he had investigated into God with an open mind but could not find enough evidence for God's existence. It made me wonder whether those who seek the truth really find God? This kind of discussion can easily devolve into a "he said she said" scenario. How do we know he...

Re: What do you think of this?
Just wanted to add a little balance as well. I found the poem very effective in dealing with a common problem we have today. That is Chritianity is often hi-jacked and replaced with religious activity. Man centered religion. Religion, properly defined, isn't a bad thing. I can remember a thread whe...

Re: What do you think of this?
Sorry to change the subject a bit, but I just noticed that Echoside, who I think, used to be an atheist (used to have it listed that he was) is now a believer! That's GREAT!!!!   Just wondering, when did you come to Christ and what finally brought you to know Him? I j...

Re: Narcissm
1. What makes us in this huge universe think we are more important than a rock or a fish. What gives us the right to think that there is human transcendence of soul(our existence in spirit) beyond physical existence? It makes more sense to see that all that exists is connected. When the son of God ...

If even half the youtube comments on that video are serious humanity is definitely progressing backwards in philosophy.

Re: If the Bible is inerent, and more
What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong no matter what God wants, IIRC. Right and wrong cannot exist without God. They are part of his nature . God does not simply decree randomly based on what mood he's in, as God is unchanging . What is right is what God's nature is, there's no more to ...

Re: Arrogant atheist
I find it hard to believe anyone still throws around the term "string theory" as if it has any merit. An unobservable, philosophically bankrupt idea that conveniently takes God out of the picture? Yea, maybe it's just me but I think there's a little bias with that one .

Thanks guys Echo, Praise God and welcome Brother. I still speak with Jac. In fact he sent me a paper today, that he just finished. I'm certain he doesn't mind me sharing the link. It's heavy stuff. http://cmmorrison.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/reconsidering-divine-simplicity.pdf I'll look into it :D
