Re: Understanding the Trinity

How can you say you believe in Jesus if you don't know who he is?Jesus is fully God in human flesh just as our bible teaches us,therefore if you reject who Jesus is,how can one be saved? It is one thing to say we beleve in Jesus but when we start denying who he is then we have a serious problem. We s...

Re: Understanding the Trinity

Your mess is in claiming in other threads something along the lines of: "Jesus is God but not fully so." Either Jesus is God, or Jesus is not, there's no half/half or this percentage, that percentage. Who says that??? YOU! Not one scripture alludes to that. To many, the bible doesn't expl...

Re: Jehovah witnesses

IF Jesus and the father are separate beings, then that automatically means there are two different gods. NO! It means that they are two separate beings with the same divine attributes, God the Father being the greater and ORIGINATOR. They have the same mind, purpose and spirit. If anything, it's th...

Re: Jehovah witnesses

When you say "God", I'm assuming you mean "the Father". If that's not what you mean, please say so. Of course that's what I mean. God is one person and ONE being. (with exceptions) Jesus being God doesn't mean that he's the same person, only that he has the same attributes, the ...

Re: Understanding the Trinity

Anyone reading the OT, especially in the original language and the different phrases of used for God, can see different entities of power working as God throughout. Which is why even Jewish thought prior to Christ talks of different representative "powers" of God. Trinitarians don't like ...

Re: Jehovah witnesses

Rick,

Jesus has all the attributes of God. Everything that God is Jesus is. God's has more of these attributes which is simply saying... God is a greater being!

This is what Thayer says about the word 'greater' in John 14...

Re: The Mark of the Beast

"It should be obvious by now, that Jesus did not mean He was less than God, or an inferior god, when He said that God ("the Father") was "greater" than He was. Jehovah's Witnesses, Unitarians, and other Arians interpret Jesus' words here this way. Arius was a heretic in the...

Re: Understanding the Trinity

Philip wrote:To be God, one must have every attribute of God, or else they are less than what God truly is. What do you consider God, then? The Father? Only?

YES! The Father has NO equals! Jesus does have every attribute God has. God simply is GREATER!

Re: Understanding the Trinity

Firstly, in relation to what I said, Jesus being God is different from Trinitarian doctrine, Yes and no. Trinitarianism does teach more than "Jesus is God." Diety is just that....Jesus is God. and is to do specifically with understanding Christ's nature and also how we should logically un...

Re: The Mark of the Beast

I have no trouble accepting the words of Jesus. I have trouble with your misinterpretation of them. Jesus is not claiming that he is not fully God. Then you would have no problem explaining the verses I quoted, and just HOW I misinterpreted them. "Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, ...

Re: Jehovah witnesses

Ok, From your answers, it seems you're saying that The Father is fully God, and Jesus isn't fully God. So to help me better understand what you're saying, let's say the father, being fully God, is 100% God, by nature. Please explain in a percentage, how much of God's divine nature Jesus has. I'm tr...

Re: The Mark of the Beast

Maybe you need to practice what you preach a little better. To say that Jesus says that he's less than the Father, ontologically, as you claim, just shows you are unwilling to change your beliefs, despite the overwhelming evidence. I have no problem accepting God's Word at face value. If Jesus said...

What I'm saying in the quote... "God gives me nothing without me diligently seeking truth through a sensible hermeneutic." When it comes to understanding prophecy or contentious doctrines, my experience is.... TRUTH (speaking about prophecy and contentious issues) can only be acquired thro...

Re: The Mark of the Beast

GoingSouth: God gives me nothing without me diligently seeking truth through a sensible hermeneutic. I doubt the Apostle Paul said that after his trip toward Damascus! Paul wasn't on a mission seeking truth, he was against it. Paul did have a hermeneutic since he was a Pharisee and that's why he wa...

Re: Jehovah witnesses

You still haven't answered how Jesus can, at the same time, be God, and not be fully God. I didn't? Jesus did! "Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I." ...
