Re: Minister denies wedding

In the Big picture God's Will triumphs -- but man's will seems to win in the 'here and now'.

Re: Is eternal security part of the gospel?

Regarding eternal security -- at the instant of salvation the Holy Spirit comes to indwell each believer and doesn't leave us until we are safe with Jesus Christ. Ephesians 4:30 " And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 2 Corinthians 1:21 - ...

Re: Minister denies wedding

I was just reading through this thread -- it Sounds like the minister decided to Not marry the couple After he went on their FB page and saw that they had no problem with same-sex coupling. I'm wondering what the marriage counseling consisted of. Does it really matter to their own marriage? Why was ...

Re: Morality Evidence for God?

I've read one of the books by C.S. Lewis -- Mere Christianity. I found that I'm not that impressed with him even though he is highly regarded. Morality needs to be based on Christianity -- God's Word. Not especially cultural norms of 'the day'. Based on the fact that many countries allow for same-se...

Re: Are My Actions Determined?

We try to rationalize the daylights out of Scripture and nature to Try to justify homosexual relationships. Animals are animals -- people are people. We have control of our actions. We Always have choices -- we might not Like the choices, but we still have them. Some day every person will answer to ...

Re: How can God know everything and let us have free will?

God's omniscience means He alone knows all things. He knows what choices we will make. For us it Is our free will. We're given lots of guidelines in God's Word, but it's still our decisions being made. And God already knows what those decisions will be.

Re: Divine Revelation Of Hell by Mary K Baxter

Yes, it Is hard to image that -- because we've always had that. But we Do have God's Word -- absent from this body either by physical death or being taken up in the rapture -- we will receive a glorified body. One just like Jesus Christ's after His resurrection.

Re: How can God know everything and let us have free will?

Another thought -- God Does know everything that everyone will ever do. Including our salvation. He knows who will accept and who won't. Maybe the 'bottom line' is that We are told to share the Gospel unto salvation with whom ever we can --Not knowing who will accept or reject -- unless God gives us...

Re: How can God know everything and let us have free will?

Wouldn't that kind of knowledge be omniscience //having all knowledge. Even though it's only that particular ladies' 'insight' -- it sounds 'fishy'. Someone having gone over the 'edge' somewhat. Sounds kind of like when people are dying / or think they are/ their life 'flashes before their eyes'. Ma...

Re: Divine Revelation Of Hell by Mary K Baxter

Nessa -- if we will retain memories of our loved ones / friends who've died and are not with them in eternity After all --wouldn't that be a sad thing and possibly cause tears of sadness. Or regrets that we somehow had failed them?

Re: Divine Revelation Of Hell by Mary K Baxter

Doesn't Scripture talk about 'utter darkness'? How far does a person move in total darkness? Not far. Utter/ complete darkness because God will be absent. God is the light of the world. I'm sort of hoping that part of the punishment of hell will be the unsaved remembering all the times they were wit...

Re: How can God know everything and let us have free will?

Because God is omniscient -- He knows everything / past, present and future. He gives us free will because we're not puppets who He controls -- we can choose to do what we want -- He knows who will ultimately accept Him and who will reject Him. He allows us to make poor choices and live with the con...
