Re: Someone Tell Me This Is NOT Literal!

fallen angels were demons, correct? Demons and Fallen Angels seem to be two different kinds of beings. The Fallen angels (or Watchers) with their new wives bore children who were Giants and they killed one another and some were destroyed in the flood according to Enoch and Jubilees. Demons seem to ...

Re: Contradictions?

I once was a skeptic and found that the mistake that most skeptics make is to accept the modern translations of the scriptures (including the KJV). Many atheists make good points about the modern contradictions but most of them stop studying and simply give up. The best sources are the oldest ones. ...

Alas, the Book of Enoch was never included in the canon...so it can't tell us anything authoritative about angels. Actually it was and still is in the Syriac and Ethiopian canons. The early Christians also considered it Cananical but this changed with the Council of Laodicea in 364 A.D. see: http:/...

Hello Icei_Nhell In answer to your questions (and they are good ones) Here is my small two cents worth: 1. You bring up several points. One of them is "contradictions" which is correct. However, I have found that when you go to the oldest texts, there are far less contradictions. I use the...

The Jews believed these were angels as well. There are the Jewish Talmudic Writings, the Book of Enoch and Jubiliess, The first, and oldest, belief is that "the sons of God" were fallen angels who consorted with human women, producing giant offspring called nephilim (Heb. ). This view was ...

Thanks Canuckster1127 I will have to be the first to admit that even though this was a quote from a man who's works I have enjoyed, I am not at all a scholar on the area of the Textus Receptus. Perhaps in the future I can study it more. If you are familiar with my works, then you know that I am cert...

The Gospels and Oral Traditions

I am not an expert on this but have put some efforts into this when having an online rebuttle toward Mr. Fank Zindler and his statements against the Gospels. 1. I believe Matthew is the oldest Gospel we have. This is supported by the Magdalen Papyri (see: http://dejnarde.ms11.net//magda.htm) Matthew...

Light before the Sun and Moon

I use the Septuagint more than any other text for Old Testament study because it is the oldest complete Old Testament we have and is more consistent. If you do read the septuagint, you will see that the word(s) for "light" are actually two separate words. The first one mean "fire&quo...

Hebrews is a beautiful book and it is sad that people will stop at this verse and turn it into something it is not. Hebrews speaks of a more perfect system. A more perfect sacrifice, and a more perfect High Priest. If the Old one was a better one, then God would not have given us this one. This one ...

Hello My name is Billy. I live in the north Dallas Fort Worth area in Texas. I was also a skeptic before and too many traditionalists never seemed to understand where I was coming from and the fundamentalists had no idea what I was talking about. As I started on my journey to overcome skepticism, I ...

Plants before Sun

Perhaps the plants were still seeds ?? Chapter 1: And God said, Let the earth bring forth the herb of grass bearing seed according to its kind and according to its likeness, and the fruit-tree bearing fruit whose seed is in it, according to its kind on the earth, and it was so. 12 And the earth brou...

Who Was Melchizedek?

He was a man just as the text states. The Hebrews believe this to be Shem (since he was still alive and the greatest patriarch of that lineage. History records another sucessor of Melchizedek. One of the Tel Amarna Tablets is from "Ebed-Tob" , a king of Jerusalem, the successor of Melchize...

Creation, The Flood, Myths and the Bible

Historical and Archeological Scholars from the California Institute of Ancient History refute the dating of the Hebrew, Babylonian, and Assyrian tablets (also Ugarit Tablets). They provide ample evidence to show that it is possible that the Assyrians and Babylonians borrowed from the Ancient Hebrew ...

This is probably my favorite site for Historical Accuracy, critique, lingistics, and archeology. It is made up of some of the finest scholars in the field and supply ample evidence for the research. There is reference to the cities of Joshua. Here is the site: http://specialtyinterests.net/old_kingd...

Re: Did Baby Jesus go to Egypt?

Re: Did Baby Jesus go to Egypt? I know there are many questions about Tatian's Diatessaron (written in the second century) since we do not have a part of the originals, and not much to go on from ancient copies, but it did exist. Here is a site that has a translation. Whatever one chooses to believe...
