Re: The Delusion of "Free Will"

And gold is a physical material, that does not exist in a metaphysical world. Have you ever thought of that? The Bible indicates we will have real but glorified bodies after the resurrection (like Jesus' risen body - he could be touched and could eat but could also appear and disappear and move int...

Re: The Delusion of "Free Will"

I mean, 'me' is who I am. If I change into something else, it's not me anymore. What responsibilty will that 'new me' have towards it's 'old me', regarding that previous life? It's like a fresh start in a new existence, the old one discarded and forgotten. An eternity in paradise as... what? What r...

Re: Gap Theory

Yet it seems like fellow old earthers just don't like the KJV for whatever reason. It is good to know there were old earth creationists back then because young earth creationists would have us believe that Christians have always been young earth creationists. I don't like using the KJV as much as mo...

Re: Gap Theory

I think you're making too much of the difference between the two words - and having to fudge a bit in addressing these verses. Maybe 'bara' was only ever used to describe God (rather than humans) creating something - that was the impression I got from the lexicon I checked; perhaps DB knows more ab...

Re: Fox News

Yes, it's weird to me - calling a channel like that 'news' I mean. I was used to a one-hour news bulletin that was supposed to be impartial and objective, followed perhaps by a current affairs show which was really also impartial, politically speaking.

Fox News

My hubby has been watching the above channel a lot lately (I never would have thought he'd be so interested in American news, but since the Trump campaign, yes, he has). I remembered something said about it here, but I must have had it the wrong way round - I thought it was one of the Christians say...

Re: Gap Theory

Here's the problem with your interpretation... The creation of the first animal life by God uses the word bara (which we both agree implies something new). On day 5 God creates marine life and birds. On day 6 God makes (asah) animals that live on the land. According to the Gap theory understanding ...

Re: Breakfast

Gabrielman, B.W., You are perpetuating the stereotype that men don't listen to what women say! Nessa clearly was not asking what each of you eat for breakfast! She asked what everyone eats! Hey, Jenna was first :P Just the other night, my wife was babbling on about how I don't listen to her, and so...

I thought after your question and the current events it was going to be a same-sex couple  As it is, I'm not sure of the answer.

Re: Manchester terrorist attack...

34% would inform the police if they thought somebody they knew was getting involved with people who support terrorism in Syria So, here we are with Muslims already living in a democratic country, enjoying its freedoms and opportunities, and yet a THIRD of them wouldn't tip the police concerning peo...

Re: Being an introvert

It seems to me (as an introvert) that it would be much better to be extraverted. I know that they don't completely equate to being outgoing or reserved, but we introverts do tend to have more of a problem in terms of shyness and lack of confidence. The extraverts can just go and say anything to any...
